Labour backs an immediate ban on 'no fault' evictions

Today in Parliament, Anneliese Dodds, MP for Oxford East, voted for Labour proposals to ban ‘no-fault’ evictions.

On the vote Anneliese said: “This is a huge issue for tenants in Oxford. Just recently in Oxford East, a family had to move at short notice despite being model tenants- meaning the kids were far away from their school and their parents far away from work.”

Vital protections private renters have been promised for years have now been watered down by the Conservative Government.

31.7% of households in Oxford East rent from a private landlord. This is one of the highest proportions in the country.

Labour will immediately abolish section 21 ‘no fault’ evictions and deliver the security and rights that renters deserve.
