Job Title: Caseworker/Senior Caseworker – Maternity Cover

Salary: In line with IPSA pay scales at 80% + of time.

Job Details

Anneliese Dodds MP is looking for a caseworker or senior caseworker to assist in her office in Oxford East for Maternity Cover May 2020- July 2021.

Candidates should be literate and personable with a good telephone manner. They should be meticulous in logging case details and have a determination to serve the public to their best ability.

The caseworker will be working as part of a team with others in the Oxford office and so should be able to demonstrate an ability to work well with others in a respectful and collegiate manner. The caseworker may also be required to aid with overseeing the overall running of the office and/or with diary management for the MP, dependent on the division of responsibilities within the staff team. The ability to support Anneliese’s communications through other channels, including through social media, could also be an advantage.

Candidates must already have experience in dealing with casework. A knowledge of immigration legislation is desirable.

Candidates must be able to show a commitment to the aims and values of the Labour Party.

Key Responsibilities:
• Attending surgeries and other meetings as appropriate
• Dealing with standard queries from members of the public
• Gathering relevant information to assist with resolving cases
• Logging all cases, monitoring progress and ensuring that identified actions are taken
• Retaining records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act and GDPR
• Drafting responses to constituents
• Assisting with other office tasks as required, which may include managing the MP’s constituency diary and/or overseeing the management of the constituency office and/or aiding with the MP’s social media output and responses.

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews will be held on the 27th of March.

Closing for applications is 12 noon.

The start date would be May 2020 (subject to negotiation) and end date would be July 2021.
